Hello! My name is Natalia and I am 19 years old. I come from a small village in Poland, my beloved homeland. I am a talkative and cheerful girl who loves reading books, especially poetry and Gothic novels, and is an amateur writer herself.
I am also fond of travelling, rock, classical and folk music, theatre, dancing, hair care, nature, photography, history (especially one of Europe and Asia) and learning foreign languages.
Another one of my passions is folklore, especially Slavic one. Folk tales, myths, legends, folk music and songs, costumes, old traditions - discovering them makes my heart flutter.
I should also mention that I am a hopeless lover of "Phantom of the Opera" musical.
Despite my bright personality and laughing face I love everything surreal, ominous and mysterious. Foggy mornings, dark mountains, stories about ghosts damned for eternity.
My biggest dream is to be a great traveller and see every place this world has to offer, especially Latin America, Italy, Russia, Finland, India, Egypt, East Asia, Celtic countries and Canada. I want to see the lives and ways of simple people from both - big cities and countryside.
I am here because I enjoy talking to people and I love learning about different cultures, which is the most beautiful and fascinating experience.
I love talking about everything, especially about cultures and traditions in other countries, as well as history, theatre, music, films, food, nature, but also about simple things like "How was your day?"
If you love your country's folklore, culture, history and would like to share it with someone foreign then go on, write to me! I will be more than thrilled to talk to you and share my knowledge as well!
I am a synesthete, which means that words like numbers, names, names of the countries, weekdays all have colours for me. For example my name Natalia is blue, number five is red, word Portugal is yellow, Wednesdays are green.
History, Polish folklore.
I want my job to be connected with foreign languages so I can blend my passion with work and I hope that by the time I turn 30 I will have experienced some of the greatest journeys ever.
I would also like to become a writer, spilling my soul onto the paper and maybe even write plays for theatre.
From literature I especially adore literary works from the Romantic era, as well as Gothic fiction, but honestly I am able to read everything, from a sloppy romance novel like "Three steps above heaven" to the greatest masterpieces of Middle Ages like "Divine Comedy", though I prefer the latter.
My favourite writer is Adam Mickiewicz and my favourite books are "Dziady" A. Mickiewicz, "Balladyna" J. Słowacki, "Faust" J. W. Goethe, "The Witcher" A. Sapkowski, "Phantom of the Opera" G. Leroux, "Notre-Dame de Paris" V. Hugo, "Wuthering Heights" E. Brontë and "Intensity" D. Koontz.
My favourite poem is "Upiór" by Adam Mickiewicz. I know it by heart and I cannot even express how much I love it.
When it comes to movies and television I love historical and costume films and series as well as fantasy and tragedy ones. There is also a special place in my heart for silent and prewar films and old good Disney.
My all time favourite movies and series are "Titanic", "Game of Thrones", "Anne of the Thousand Days", "Schindler's List", "Beauty and the Beast", "Nosferatu", "Lord of the Rings", "Pocahontas" and "House of Flying Daggers".
Honestly? Every culture draws me in, if I could I would learn stuff about all of them.
However cultures that I am most interested in are Slavic, Celtic, Arabian, East Asian, Italian and Latin American ones.
I love travelling and sightseeing. Till now I have been to Slovakia, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Iceland. I loved all of those places, each had its own charm!
I wish I could live in Russia, China, Italy or Spain for a year. US and Scandinavia sound great too!
