Hi, my name is Sophia and I would really like to improve my french (as well as english), but I'm open to getting to know anyone from anywhere
I've been to France a few times, mostly to the Alsace and I once traveled to Nice with my french class, I really adored the city, the beach and the beautiful landscape around.
I also visited Austria and Switzerland and the Alpes are probably my favourite place in the world.
I've also been to London last year, but only for two days, so I sadly couldn't see too much of the city..
The furthest I've ever been away was in Crete, Greece
My favourite book series (besides Harry Potter, which has sentimental value) is The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey, but I also love books like The portrait of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque or Fried Green Tomatoes at Whistle Stop Cafe by Fanny Flag.
And I adore basically every book by Astrid Lindgren.
To choose a favourite movie is kind of hard, but I love to watch Spirited Away and Spirit stallion of the cimarron
I would love to stay in a different country, maybe with a family one time to really see what life is like there, but it would be a little hard to find the right place, because I would have to be able to take my dog with me
I'm basically interested in every country, but realistically it would probably be one in Europe, maybe France, Italy, Russia or Portugal.
I really try my best to do as little harm to the world during my lifetime as possible, to me that means not consuming animal products (as they are our friends and have just as much of an interest in life as we do), using as little plastic as possible, walking/biking or using public transportation and not flying.
No one is perfect, but I think we all have the responsibility to think about the consequences of our actions and to be gentle and caring towards each other and our surroundings.
I'm not really and expert in anything to be honest. I mean I play the piano, love singing, reading, writing, cooking, hiking, but I don't aspire to be perfect in any of those and I don't think that's what it's even about. I love to learn new things about any topic though
Human rights, animal rights, philosophy in general, books, gardening, politics, what we could do to make the world a better place for everyone...
I learned how to drive a (manual) car and passed my drivers license test
My dream would be to live somewhere deep in the countryside, maybe in France or Italy, where I have my own little house and big garden where I live self sufficiently off of what I grow.
I think people had more appreciation for a lot of things back then, nowadays we all take everything for granted when we really shouldn't.
A lot of people should care more about each other and not only ever think about themselves.
I think schools should teach kids more about critical thinking and be suited for everyone's individual interests. We are all different and one plan just doesn't work for everyone. Also, children should be able to move, eat and drink whenever they want to and not have to sit for hours on end.
I regret not learning more languages when I was younger, but I'm trying my best now
As a kid I was fanatic about dinosaurs, and tbh I still kind of am, they are pretty cool
I'm most interested in other languages and would like to learn as many as possible.
